Separation of Church & State?
Only when convenient!
Hmmm... Why is our President placing conference calls and webcasts with 140 thousand Pastors and Rabbis and asking them to promote Nationalized Health Care from the pulpit? (story here)
See, separation of Church and State is only brought up when it supports the Libs argument / cause. Shameful. Do they have no end to their double standards?
They are doing to same things that they complained about the previous administration for, only worse!
Seriously, have they no shame?
I need not comment more, because this story speaks for itself. One more question though. If this Health Care "Reform" is such a good idea, why the desperate pleas to Pastors and all the Millions spent on TV commercials? A good plan would sell itself, right? (sorry, that was 2 questions)

The seperation of church and state is a distinct line that has been blurred in this country for many years. (i.e. christmas is a national holiday, under god inserted into the pledge by the K of C, etc) As result, presidents (both past and present) believe that they can use religion for political gains. Perhaps, that is exactly why the founding fathers specified that governement is to be separate and free from relgion.
ReplyDeleteNotwithstanding the above, one of the concerns voiced about health care is the cost..$1 trillion over 10 years...Yet - thanks to Bush's war in Iraq (over those yet to be found WMDs) the government will come close to spending $1 trillion in 7 years!! No mention of that fact from the right wing...I forgot - that is the price of fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them here...Maybe Tom Ridge has a different viewpoint? Not sure but he says he was getting political pressure to "play with the terror level" before the 04 elections..In any event, Bush won - so guess it was Mission Accomplished!
